Pleneurethics sees the universe as a system of structures and substructures, all interrelated in varying degrees. Some structures are dominant, others subordinate, and still others alternate their role according to their employment.

The Absolute is the prime structure. Life is a fringe structure resulting from various combinations of the forces of material and animative consciousness. Plate One shows the source of animatory force and material which make up the discrete cells of the body and the brain.

In Pleneurethics it is postulated that the animatory force is available without limit. Hence, it is not a factor to be manipulated by man or even a matter of any great concern. It is more pertinent for man to be concerned about his comprehension of those matters over which he exercises some control.

The structure is basic; it provides Pleneurethics with a relevancy and regularity and predictability achieved by few other schools of thought and practice. The structure is conceived in Pleneurethics to prescribe intra-structural function and to establish content specifications and requirements. If structures are perfectly formed and maintained, the interlock between related structures will be harmonious. If but one structure is distorted, abnormal tension will be generated within it. This undesirable stress will also be transmitted to adjacent structures. The proper function of the entire organism will be harmed.

Stress then is present in all structures. Normal stresses are present in proper structures. Abnormal stresses occur in distorted structures and produce many functional problems which may even reflect to jeopardize the entire structure.

Pleneurethics encompasses all structures and substructures of the world as they impinge upon the brain of humankind individually and collectively. This is a vast expanse, and there are few people who see it in its entirety. Most people must remain content to see only parts of the total pattern, and even then it is difficult to entertain simultaneous comprehension of those few parts which are observed.

In thinking of structure, two broad divisions are recognized—macro and micro structures. Macro structure is the gross anatomy of any device or object. Macro anatomy considers the basic external shape, and the internal main beams which support and absorb major physical stress in any structural machination. Micro structure, on the other hand, is concerned with the minute particles from which a device or object is constructed. Thus, the micro structure of the human body is composed of cells and non-cellular tissues and liquids. Even some liquids are structural such as the blood with its array of necessary ingredients.

Both micro structure and macro structure are important. But each can be overlooked or over-stressed to the detriment of knowledge. Thus, if a person concentrates on the micro structure, he sees the tree but not the forest. If he becomes preoccupied with macro structure, he views the vast reach of the forest, but he fails to note its individual trees. Not only does this notion of the micro structure and the macro structure apply to the physics of the physical and chemical being, but it applies also to the structures of the mind and civilization as well.

Biological Structures
Stresses and tensions are a necessary corollary of organisms in a structured universe. All living structures must bear strain. With too much strain, the structure breaks down from overload, and the function ceases. With too little strain, the organism succumbs from disuse and atrophy, or it disintegrates as an unaccustomed load is presented it.

In the case of people, excessive stress causes a functional problem which manifests the sign and symptoms of disease. Also, in the case of people, insufficient stress leaves them unprepared for emergencies which invariably await them. Such people suffer the signs and symptoms of immaturity and weakness.

In biological structures, excessive stress inhibits relaxation. Chronic loss of ability to relax, because of tension, breeds chronic disease. Moreover, stresses from several sources may reinforce one another to evoke seemingly mysterious, but nonetheless very dangerous, diseases. Such diseases are difficult, virtually impossible, to diagnose or treat unless Pleneurethical principles are understood. Diseases are uniformly incorrectly diagnosed and incorrectly treated if it is believed that they are caused by exotic germs, remote reaches of an unconscious sector of mind, or revenge of an incensed holy spirit.

For the good of humankind, Pleneurethics strives to simplify and to remove mystery from all that which involves biological affairs. Diverse biological events are handily correlated when analyzed in terms of structural stresses and distortions and in terms of transfer of these stresses to interrelated organic structures and tissues. Excessive accumulation of structural tension impairs normal relaxation and contributes to loss of health.

Pleneurethical therapy relieves undesirable accumulations of stress in key structures, thereby sympathetically reducing pathological stresses in correlative structures. Improvement in function of biological tissues invariably occurs when pathological tensions in the major and minor structures of the organisms are abated.

Signs and symptoms of functional abnormality due to structural distortion and tension runs the full spectrum of mental and physical diseases. Efforts of the organism to process or compensate the effects of stress leads to a wide range of pathologies from nightmares and irrational behavior, to ulcers and cancer cell formation.

The interrelationship between structures controls life and the way one lives it. The most important structures affecting a person over

which he has some measure of control are: the brain, mentality, body, and the external world with its civilization and culture. The brain is in axial relationship to these several structures and is the subject of the following chapter.
